Leanne began her career appointed by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Global Ministries as a journalist with the Ecumenical Movement for Human Rights in Buenos Aires. She returned to the U.S. to serve with the United Church of Christ Office for Church in Society and Interfaith Action for Economic Justice on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Since returning to Seattle in the early 90s, Leanne has served numerous local, regional, and international nonprofits with a focus on communications, advocacy, and fundraising. Most recently she was the development director with Seattle Arts & Lectures. She earned undergraduate degrees in journalism and Spanish from Butler University and a master’s degree in Latin American Studies at Georgetown University.
